From a Chance Scroll to a Coastline Mission
I first came across Paul Harris while mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. He was three days into his very first lap around the UK, just leaving Dorset with a backpack, a clear mission, and a story that stopped me in my tracks. There was something about the simplicity of it. One man, the entire British coastline ahead of him, and a purpose bigger than the walk itself.
Naturally, I wanted to know more. Who was he? Why was he taking on something so physically and mentally demanding? What had led him to this point?
The only issue was that there wasn’t much out there about him.
So I reached out.
I sent him a message, explained that I’d been following his journey, and offered to help him build a proper online presence. From that first conversation, it just clicked. Paul is a genuine, grounded guy with a big heart. We got on instantly. It didn’t take long for me to know I wanted to support him however I could.
Before any design work started, I took the time to really understand his story.
Paul had served in the Royal Marines. He’d appeared on Channel 4’s Shipwrecked. He’d spent time in Thailand teaching in a kindergarden. And then came the decision that would define the next chapter of his life: to walk the entire coastline of the UK to raise money and awareness for causes close to his heart.
The website had to capture all of that. It needed to tell people who he was, why he was walking, and what he was aiming to achieve. It also had to be practical. His audience was growing quickly, so the site needed to give people a way to follow his progress, donate directly to him, and support the charities he championed.
By the time he completed his first lap, there was a proper platform in place where supporters could connect with the journey. By the end of his second lap, the website had evolved into a real hub. It documented his achievements, shared his updates, and reflected the scale of what he’d accomplished.
I still manage and update the site today, keeping it in step with his latest adventures. Paul has now finished writing his first book, due for release in May 2026, and it’s available to pre-order through the website.
Looking back, it’s hard to believe it all started with a single Instagram post from Dorset. It’s been a privilege to support Paul from those early days to where he is now. His story keeps growing, and I’m proud to play a small part in helping more people discover it.
