Some projects mean a little more than others. This was one of them.
Chris Hull is a good mate of mine. He went straight into plumbing and heating after leaving school and built solid experience in the trade. After years on the tools, he decided to take a break and try something completely different. He became a tipper truck driver for a while, learning new skills and seeing a different side of working life.
But plumbing was always what he enjoyed most.
When he decided the time was right to return to the trade and launch his new venture, Alpha CPH, he came to me with a simple brief. He showed me his old logo from his previous company, Alpha Gas, and said he wanted something that gave a nod to his roots, but felt fresh, modern and ready for this new chapter.
Honouring the Past: The Alpha Gas Logo
The original Alpha Gas logo had a strong, recognisable look. Bold typography. Clean lines. The circular flame-style icons that instantly signalled gas and heating services. It was simple and professional.
That identity mattered. It represented years of work and reputation.
Rather than starting from scratch, I wanted to respect that history.
Creating the New Alpha CPH Logo
When designing the new Alpha CPH branding, I took inspiration directly from the original Alpha Gas logo.

I kept the clean, confident typography style.

I retained the circular flame motif, evolving it to feel sharper and more modern.

I refreshed the colour palette, keeping the strong blues but refining the tones for a cleaner, more contemporary look.

I simplified elements so it works just as well on vans, uniforms, social media and the website.
The result is a logo that clearly links back to Alpha Gas but stands confidently on its own as Alpha CPH. It feels established, not like a brand-new startup. That was important.
Building the Website
Once the branding was nailed down, I moved onto the website.
The goal was simple: clean, professional and easy to use. No clutter. No gimmicks.
We built a site that:

Builds trust with strong branding and clear messaging

Is fully optimised for local SEO
Because let’s be honest, most customers aren’t sitting at a desktop searching for a plumber. They’re on their phone, often needing help quickly.
The site needed to load fast, look trustworthy and make it obvious how to get in touch.
SEO and Getting Found
Design is important. But being found is what really moves the needle.
Alongside the build, I implemented proper on-page SEO, structured content around local search terms, optimised headings, metadata and site performance.
As a result, Alpha CPH is now highly ranked on Google in his area. The website doesn’t just sit there looking nice, it actively brings in enquiries.
